One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

summer 2008, i was 18 and still had 2 weeks of my vacation and didnt know what to do.
the most important thing for me was to do something ... just anything ... everything would be better then sitting at home while the summer is giving a party outside.
so i decided to go to sweeden.
and i wanted to go by bike.
but i realized, that my old one wouldnt be good enough for this trip.
so i bought me a new one, bought the train tickets bookt the ship and went up to trelleborg.
from there on i went by bike.
i planned to drive about 600 km at all.
but during the first day, which was pretty rainy, i realized, that i would never be ably to do this.
about 200 km to the north i thought about searching a place to sleep. i had a tent and everything i needed for camping but i didnt want to build up my tent in the rain. so i startet to drive from house to house and ask the people if they had a dry place to sleep.
i think the first three or four didnt want me but then i stood in front of a giant hearted woman.
i asked her if i may sleep in the barn but after some seconds she went in and came out with the keys of their caravan. she told me to get my stuff in the caravan first and then ill have some bread as evening meal.
this woman lives together with her husband and two of her three sons.
all of them where great.
we went fishing.
had a lot of fun in a sauna and really enjoyed the days we had together.
the same family arranged that i was picked up by a lorry wich brought me pretty close to my destination.
this was the amazing part of this trip that i wanted to share with you.
the days at my destination where full of collectin mushrooms, driving around with my bike and relaxin in the sun.
