ABOUT ME

Hey! My name's Maddie and I'm an Aussie girl, with a love of the outdoors. I spend a lot of time outside...either swimming at the beach, watching sunsets/sunrises over the water, jumping off waterfalls, or running along the sand. I also like walking through rainforests and hiking mountains. I have heaps of energy, and am always excited about new adventures. I enjoy discovering new places, and new activities... If I'm not outside, you'll probably find me sitting with a cup of tea, and a paint brush. I'm not much of an artist, but am inspired by nature, and often try to capture images from my mind onto paper. Otherwise, you might find me creating delicious food in the kitchen- I like experimenting with different herbs and spices!
I am interested in foreign cultures, and have always enjoyed meeting people from other parts of the globe. I love to learn about different ways of living, food, and language. Whenever I travel, I enjoy spending time with the local people as I feel you get to know the real way of life..not just the tourist attractions! I feel immersion is the best way of experiencing a place.
As a couch surfer, I am excited about exchanging thoughts and ideas with others, and forming some great friendships.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to make the most of each day, and face each day with a positive attitude. I think it's pretty important to enjoy each day, as you never know whats around the corner. I hope to spread happiness to those around me, share a listening ear, a word of advice, a helping hand, a smile, or a laugh.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have recently joined the Couchsurfing Project...but think it is a terrific organisation. Such a great idea! I have personally hosted a number of travellers on my own floor/couch, and have always enjoyed meeting such interesting people.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had many travellers call my place home. I've had people stay from all over the globe - either for a short time...or a long time. Some people have stayed months. We have had a lot of fun cooking together in the kitchen, and creating delicious feasts. I always try to show them some special places around me - beaches, rivers, lakes, and include them in my circle of friends

Music- I like anything acoustic, a good beat, a cruisy flow. I also love some of the old classics.
Whitley, Matt costa, fleet foxes,the hampdens, lior, luka bloom, waifs, Tracey chapman, paul Simon, van Morrison...
Books- yeah that's something I don't do a lot of but would like to start reading a bit more. Some good books i have read are The Kite Runner, Maos Last Dancer, The Alchemist, Its Not About the Bike....any other suggestions.? I also enjoy flicking through recipe books and getting ideas for exotic feasts!

How do I pick one thing???
The first thing that came to mind was skydiving- if you haven't done it you really should..its the best adrenaline rush in the world, and incredibly beautiful view below as you fly through the Air.
Other than this..the second thing that jumped into my head ..was hiking the himalayas in Nepal....absolute natural beauty. Or trekking through Milford in NZ....pristine scenery. Just stunning.

I have lots to share...
I'm a creative soul - give me some paper, paint, pastels...and i'll add so e colour to the place.
I love tasting, creating, and sharing delicious food...i can teach you how to make some pretty good food!
Other than a few sporting skills I may be able to share..I can hula hoop pretty well...a skill I can help you develop. Woohoo
