ABOUT ME

I'm a photographer, poet, and music lover. I have a friend in the OKC area who regularly hosts house concerts and I often go to record on video those concerts and provide that on youtube for her and the traveling musicians. I've published a few poems in an Oklahoma anthology recently and I have an unpublished book of poems I need to start trying to get published. I haven't written anything since I moved to Oklahoma, but I am really aching for some culture and landscape to write about. I take a lot of photos, too, of nature and landscapes and cityscapes. I'm pretty easy-going, helpful, and trustworthy.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm a Virgo, so a good chunk of my life has felt rather rigid and overly-planned. I let loose of that from time to time by not planning out a roadtrip on a map, but just trusting and following the signs, get there when I get there. I want to live more freely and enjoy more of our country's diverse landscape and culture.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I have never been west of Oklahoma City and in September I plan to take a week vacation westward to New Mexico to visit Taos, Santa Fe, and Albuquerque. I'd love to surf a few couches during my trip and meet/make a few new friends. I am moving in July into a duplex further into Oklahoma City, which will have a second bedroom, so when that is ready I will also participate as a host. :)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I haven't couch surfed yet through this site, but I have certainly stayed on couches or in guest bedrooms before when visiting friends in Kentucky, Mississippi, Alabama.

Enseña, aprende, comparte

I have a Canon EOS Rebel XS I am learning to use well, hopefully, and I could show a younger novice some of the tricks I have learned, or could learn more from an experienced owner of such a camera.
I could also give some feedback on someone's poetry, give suggestions for how to submit it to journals, etc., through references and through my own experiences.
I could also lead a free-writing group one morning: Start with a writing prompt of some kind, write for 15-20 minutes, then we share with each other what we wrote and others recall back to the writer what they liked about the free-writing piece. This is my favorite creative thing to participate in.
