ABOUT ME

I'm starting to travel more, but finding I don't really have the budget for things like hotels and whatnot. Basically, I want to be free to spend a night in a town, meet some cool people, and then return the favor when possible. Call it karma, or just not being a jerk.

So that's why I'm here. Who I am? I'm a guy who enjoys good beer (but not so many that I bother anyone), good food (you show me your best burger place in town and your meal is on me) and good people (pretty much self-explanatory there).

PHILOSOPHY

Everybody can tell a great story. Everybody can tell a great joke. I want to collect as many of these as I can, and hopefully leave you with a few worth repeating.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

My next couch-surfing experience will be my first. I'll probably make a lot of mistakes, but they'll be in your favor (I'll probably say "Thank you" and "Seriously, thanks so much" about 50 times an hour). I'm a friendly dude when people are being kind to me.

Writing, photography (OK, so just snapping pictures of funny street signs, but that's kind of like photography), getting to know people.

I used to be a reporter, so I love getting peoples' stories. I want to make connections with everyone I meet, even if it's a one-and-done.

This is lame and I know I have a better one I can't think of right now. But I just finished my first ten mile race after not being able to run a half mile a year ago.
