About Me

CURRENT MISSION

To finally see the world and to see the great music festivals.

ABOUT ME

I'm a single parent with grown up sons, who have been hosting travellers (at our house) for the last 5 years.
They keep telling me to get a profile, but I've been putting it off for years because I didn't want to fill in this part! In fact, the only way this is happening is from Terry making me do it! (and helping me fill in this bit at least)

It's weird, I've been a geography teacher for over 35 years and I haven't been overseas for the last 30! I've been putting it off for so long and now my kids have moved out, they are pushing me to make sure I live life to the fullest and take every opportunity presented.

Now they are not home to keep new, exiting people coming through my house, I need to get into this CS thing and make things happen all by myself.

Starting April, I'm doing a 2 month trip over to South America (via New Zealand) and can't wait to get involved with the Couchsurfing community on a surfing basis!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Hosted over 50 different couch surfers over the last few years through my sons, Terry and Duncan.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've never surfed but can't wait to.

Interests

Love live music - blues, jazz, rock, soul. Listen to live music every week. Enjoy casual dancing. Trying to use my camera more often and hope to get some great photos in my future travelling.
Just about to do a South American Adventure and I think it will give me the travel bug in the future.

Music, Movies, and Books

One step at a time!

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Cycling around New Zealand for 5 weeks in summer and only a handful of days when it rained lots. Great to camp anywhere and talk with locals. Scenery changed every day.
Trip to Niugini, what a culture shock in the late 1970s.

Teach, Learn, Share

I just want to share (teaching and learning while we share).

Countries I’ve Visited

New Zealand, Papua New Guinea

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia
