About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I've come here to buy an apartment

ABOUT ME

I came to Alicante an couple of months after a contract in Qatar specifically to buy an apartment here. I fell in 'love' with Alicante last year and now I'm here.

My job has taken me all over the world but now I'm home.

PHILOSOPHY

I support the EU 100% and would like to see a European Federation modelled on the American System. I know, I know not a very popular view in the UK and in many member States.

Viva Europa!

I’m a Atheist, thank God and believe in ‘Reason’ No strong views - tolerant. I respect other peoples views and culture, well up to a point, of course!

My rice bowl is always (well, mostly) half full. There many many people in our world who are worst off then me so, there but by the grace of God go I!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I will host when I have my apartment......endless paperwork how can it be so difficult to buy an apartment here! Franco has left the building but his bureaucracy is alive and well!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Once - where I'm staying in Rene Pino apartment who I would without hesitation recommend.

Interests

Meeting people and different cultures.

I enjoy good local restaurants cafe and bars (preferably, in the Alps with the snow falling), a glass of wine. I have many different friends from different social groups and countries; I guess this is from traveling. I'm open mined and reasonably tolerant/non judgmental.

Music, Movies, and Books

Far too many

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I stood on top of the Berlin Wall in front of the Brandenburg Gate on the 28th December 1989 the air was electric with freedom from the communist bullshit and you could almost taste the democracy!

I once sat on a deserted beach in Hawaii and watched a huge turtle crawling along the beach as the Sun was setting into the ocean. I was drinking a gin and tonic I had just made, with lots of local fresh lime. The sea breeze suddenly stopped like someone had turned a switch, so the ozone from the sea was now mixing with smell of the jungle, fantastic.

I enjoy the Alps, the silence that comes when the snow falls. Lunch at a mountain restaurant before a lazy ski down, via the easiest route of course, to the village and a waiting log fire, with a bottle of wine shared with the warmth of good company.

I enjoy lazy Sundays, drinking Italian coffee, eating French croissants and reading English newspapers.

Teach, Learn, Share

So, far I've only met humans although, there was that one time.......
