Continue to be a child at heart and play in snow as much as possible!
I enjoy medium-length walks on the beach, but mostly fires and good times. If everyone's going out for a pint, I'm there too. I cook most of the year and compliment it by snowboarding and getting lost in the woods the rest of the time.
As previously stated, I will attempt to remain a child at heart until the day that I die -- I don't think there's any other way to live.
Live it up! Yesterday is gone and tomorrow may never come, so smile, lift your glass, and let's enjoy the time we have together!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
First time user, however I have been fortunate enough to be hosted by friends when I am travelling, and recognize the importance. I also have my fair share of travelling friends on my couch, even if it means the living room might smell like butt in the AM.
Showed up in Revelstoke, BC with two friends and no plan. Spent the first night sleeping in the parking lot at the ski resort in my Honda Civic, and searched for lodging the next day with no luck.
We were looking to spend another night in the car, so decided to get a few beers to help bear with the cold. While browsing the local brewskies, a little Australian ski bunny starting chatting with us, invited us back to her apartment, partied with us, gave us a '91 Subaru Loyale, and offered us a spare room to sleep in for 3 or 4 nights.
Snowboarding, skiing, beer (once read the Czech consume on average 600 litres of beer/year -- my mission is to outdo them), cooking, getting lost, but always finding the way, sciences, movies (interstellar horror or go home -- Alien and Event Horizon remain some of my top)
Music, Movies, and Books
Pff.... Dunno, I could list a few... Dr.Strangelove, The Great Escape, Alien, Alien III, Black Dynamite, The Hitchikers Guide to the Galaxy, 180 Degrees South.
Anything Vonnegut usually keeps me turning the pages.
Love anything from blues and jazz to indie and modern/classic rock. I listen to a fair share of rap and even elctro too. All over the place.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Drove from Montreal to Calgary in 36 hrs nonstop with two buddies. Continued on into the rockies. Drove down to Vancouver, went back through the rockies and back home. Not all in one sitting, mind you, but it was a great experience.
Teach, Learn, Share
My culinary skills have taken some leaps and bounds over the passed two years, so my glossary of cooking terms, techniques, and recipes has changed quite a bit.
Spent a bit of time playing off in the rockies. My snowboarding has improved steadily, as well as my knowledge of the hazards that are present on the hill. I teach snowboarding with a calm and philosophical demeanor. Be kind to the outdoors and she will be kind to you.
I am interested in learning more about cooking as well as outdoor sports including surfing and rock climbing. Never surfed and only climbed a bit out of the gym.
