About Me

CURRENT MISSION

finding sunshine.
I've lived in Korea for nearly four years now. Now I'm based at my friend's place in Gangnam for the next month or so while I travel.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My housemate had couchsurfers a few summers ago. They were really nice and helped educate me about bicycles a little more (I was new to the hobby), and showed us a sweet zombie movie they made a few years ago. I didn't know they were couch surfers; I thought they were her friends. I thought it was a cool thing.

Interests

I like watching tennis, F1, and NFL, along with anything else that makes me think or laugh.

I love to eat, so I cook. Or is it cook, so I eat? Chicken/egg.

I like mechanical stuff, so cars, planes, and bikes (and any other machine) fascinate me.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

None of these things are amazing in particular; they just gave me a lot of happiness or wonderment.

Hopped in a car with some strangers and drove from Barcelona to Palamos for the most incredible time of my life on the Costa Brava.

In Asturias, I toured caves and got to see prehistoric paintings. SO different than in the books. I can't describe how it felt the moment of seeing these hands and figures painted on the walls... just magical.

Being at the 2011 Track and Field World Championships in Daegu. Track used to be a huge part of my life, and to be at an event like that was special to me - the coming together of people from all over the world, the passion they share, and the togetherness of many different nations really made me feel like a true global citizen for the first time.

I went to Japan and Vietnam, countries that I had no real interest in, but came away in love with each.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can turn a wrench with the best of 'em! I "learned" to sew enough to fix a bike pouch and it's held up for hundreds of miles so far. I also make some mean flour tortillas... once made some at a friend's using a soda bottle in place of a rolling pin!

Countries I’ve Visited

Australia, Germany, Japan, Netherlands, Portugal, Taiwan, Viet Nam

Countries I’ve Lived In

South Korea, Spain, United States
