ABOUT ME

I'm a very casual, chilled guy... long waits at airports / bus stops etc don't seem like a hassle to me, just more time to read my book! :)

I recently quit my job to travel to New Zealand for the Rugby World Cup and spending the last 5 weeks back in NZ has re-ignited my passion for travel (and that amazing country!) So while I have some free time I'm going to indulge myself, try something new and head out across Europe.

Having made the decision to leave my I now feel that I might not be the most career orientated person, I've spent 6 years working as a scientist and now I'm looking for something new! ...whatever that is?!

Travel... aren't we all? ;)
Surfing... It's been a long time since I was any good, but one day I hope to be able to spend enough time in the water to get good again!
Skiing... I love this sport! It seems no matter how long I leave it, I never forget it!
Snowboarding... One of the most frustrating (but addictive) things I have ever done! At the moment its a love / hate relationship, but in time it may become something beautiful! ;)
Video games... yes I'm a gamer geek. shhhhh

Soul Surfer, the true story of teen surfer Bethany Hamilton, who lost her arm in a shark attack. Amazing woman! Most moving film I ever saw, she still surfs on the pro World Tour! After that, a few of my recent favourites would be Limitless, Inception, Scott Pilgrim vs The World, The Green Hornet, The Adjustment Bureau and The Book of Eli.

My music tastes are really wide ranging! I like rock, reggae, drum and bass, dubstep, house, techno, hip hop and all sorts of weird and wonderful stuff in-between.

John Grisham and Robert Ludlum are both popular authors of mine. Tolkien is a MASSIVE favourite! I can't even count how many times I've read and re-read Lord of the Rings and the Hobbit! I remember having it read to me when I was a child before I could read it myself! Recently read Girl with a Dragon Tattoo, Stieg Larssons writing blew me away, I can't wait to start on the sequels!

Twinfalls: Kakadu National Park Australia. This was without doubt one of the most amazing things I've experienced in my life. We spent the 1st half of the day hiking to the top of the falls where we then swam in pools just meters away from the drop! The afternoon we hiked and swam up the valley floor to the bottom of the waterfall!
