We are a family of five and a lively household. Our three sons are born 2007, 2010, and 2012. On weekends we often have plans. Therefore we prefer hosting on weekdays (Monday through Friday). During the week we all have to go to work and school, and and get up between 6:30 and 7:00 a.m. in order to leave the house by 8:00. Requests for one night have a higher likelihood of fitting in with our family schedule than longer stays.

I have currently removed the Couchsurfing app from my phone and participate only through the website. Thus, answers to messages may take somewhat longer. #digitaldetox

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

We have always travelled a lot and met many wonderful people. As a family with three children we have become a little more stationary. Still we can contribute as hosts to make the world a better place.

The list is long and varied.
I enjoyed books by the authors Varlam Shalamov, Ian Frazier, Michael Pollan, Truman Capote, Jack Kerouac, Jon Krakauer, Vladimir Nabokov and love reading the New Yorker Magazine on a regular basis.

For reference on cooking I turn to Julia Child, Karl Duch, Donna Hay.
