About Me
Hey! I’m Bonnie, a young Australian traveller. At the end of last year I finished my Environmental management studies, packed up my belongings and booked a one way ticket to go see some other parts of the Earth. I love music, I play guitar, a bit of piano and sing. I’m from the tropical rainforest and I love to explore, swim in creeks, hike mountains and see the beauty in natural areas. I try my best to live a fairly sustainable lifestyle. I’m keen on gardening and permaculture, intrigued by the idea of being self sufficient. Im generally pretty laid back and friendly, and keen to explore the local area and hang out with the locals! :)
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
Throughout my travels I do not want to feel like a tourist, constantly on the move and staying in sterile, characterless hostels. I want to understand the local way of life, and what the local people are like in an area. I want to feel at home on another side of the world. I want to meet interesting people and learn some of what they know. I like to work while I travel and share knowledge, so I can travel for longer and learn more.

Music, Movies, and Books
I don’t watch a lot of movies, though I usually enjoy comedy or documentaries.
I like to read, from biographies to fiction novels.
I like a huge range of music, lots of old stuff including; the Beatles, Crosby stills and Nash, Jackson Browne, Dire Straights, Steely Dan, Bon Dylan, Neil Young, The Band, the list goes on.. but also some new stuff, young Australian artists.. too much to list.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Travelling South America solo and finding myself in some of the most gorgeous places.. the desert, the mountains of Colombia, the ruins up at Machu Picchu, the beaches of Argentina.
I used to work on the boats that took people snorkelling out on the Great Barrier Reef, that was also a pretty special time.
Teach, Learn, Share
I’m learning Spanish. I can teach English in exchange! I can share what I know musically, I’d love to learn more musical theory. I can share what I’ve learnt working on permaculture farms, studying environment. I can share my story, I can listen to yours.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share good conversation, stories, I can cook a lovely dinner and share a bottle of wine with hosts. I can share what I’ve learnt about environmental studies, I can share good local knowledge of where to visit in Aus, I can share my couch in Aus when I’m back there. I can share laughs, adventures and good times!
