ABOUT ME

It's been an adventure, and I really love a good adventure.

I study social work, so I'm tough but tender-hearted. I began the social work road after becoming a certified advocate with Refuge House, a local shelter, counseling, and resource center for persons and their children in imminent danger of domestic violence. I saw and heard many things I'd never known and it all became a pretty accurate compass.

I'm retraining to be a Tallahassee RollerGirl, welcome you to come to our bouts, and, as everyone has a derby team somewhere nearby, I suggest you get to know your local girls so you can start having the time of your life, too.

Also, I'm engaged to the most loving, intelligent, creative, sexiest person in the galaxy.

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

True, my current couch availability status is a little on the "un" side, but this is hardly for lack of friendliness or openness. I live with my best friend, one of the sweetest people in the world though not entirely comfortable with the whole couch surfing deal, so I'm respecting her wishes and her perimeters of privacy while I'm with her.

Otherwise, I am looking forward to meeting some extraordinary people through CS! I would love to meet people coming to/through Tally & show them all things that make it a surprisingly wonderful place (Note: These things may be hard to spot w/o a decent guide :).

I believe in what CS is trying to help us curious ones accomplish. It's like a reinvention, on a globally massive scale, of 2 things:
~The way we perceive and treat one another (I seriously wonder whatever happened to good ole fashioned hospitality.)
~Learning as an actual experience ("I don't just want to believe the world is round, I want to see it for myself." Anne of Green Gables)

So yadda, yadda, yadda... let's meet :)

If I stay in your home I will probably beg to make & share at least one glorious meal together. Not because I'm a particularly good cook (I'm okay), but in my experience a home-cooked meal over a bottle or two of something and great conversation works a kind of magic that can make anywhere & anyone feel like home & family. You're just meeting for the first time, is all.

If you're not up for an "in" kind of meal, I'll take you out. I'm sure we'll love it all the same.

I love listening to and sharing stories. Everyone has at least one they love to tell.

I want to learn how to rock climb!!! My upper-body strength is fair (probably pretty decent as females go) and I'm always gaining lower-body muscle & agility with roller derby. If you're into this & want a willing pupil, I'm yours.
