I'm a 1stLt in the United States Marine Corps. I graduated from the United States Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. Currently in the Marine Corps I'm a Joint Fires Observer and am in charge of a scout team. I grew up in downtown Austin, TX so I love live music venues. I grew up playing football and lacrosse and I rowed crew in college. I consider myself very laid back but that's always in the eye of the beholder.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want a different experience then visiting a location via hotel. I want to get to know the people, what they do, what they like, and where they go. I want to be immersed in the local culture.

Interests

College football, the University of Texas is going to turn their act around. Running and lifting weights. Shooting rifles and pistols, trap and skeet, shotguns... probably why I became a Marine. At the end of the day, if you have a back porch, rocking chairs, a cooler with beer, and a radio we will have a great time. If you have never played washers you're missing out on one of the greatest redneck games of all time. Just so you know, I may come from the backwoods but I have a degree in Quantitative Economics and love drinking and discussing topics such as economic development and growth, multivariable calculus and what that translates to in the real world, linear modeling and optimization and how that translates to business growth, and of course public finance concentrating in the german health and education fields.

What I Can Share with Hosts

Mexican food, I make my own queso, burritos, and enchiladas (if you have no clue what that is, you have yet to live life to the fullest). If you have a smoker, I smoke brisket and ribs (this is more of a weekend event), and its better if there is natural cedar or misquite that way the meat falls off the bone. I make my own rub.
