About Me

Hi, I'm Boris. I was born and raised in Slovakia, but these days I live in Toronto, Canada. I work as a National Account Manager, and my background is in business, marketing, and sales. Professionally, I enjoy solving problems, building relationships, and learning how things work behind the scenes.

Outside of work, I’m someone who loves to explore. Traveling has shaped who I am. I enjoy meeting locals, learning about different ways of life, and having deep conversations with strangers who quickly feel like friends. I believe the best memories come from shared meals, spontaneous adventures, and moments you can't plan.

I speak English and Slovak fluently, and I’m learning Spanish. I love sports, especially volleyball and golf, and I try to stay active. I’m also into personal development, good books, and learning about global topics like politics, economics, and innovation.

I’m easygoing, curious, and always up for a good story or a laugh. Couchsurfing, to me, is about genuine connection. If we cross paths, I’d be happy to share stories, exchange travel tips, or just hang out and see where the conversation goes.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

For me, travel is all about making real connections and building friendships that go beyond borders. What I love most about Couchsurfing is that it lets you truly experience a place, not just visit it. Staying with locals, hearing their stories, and seeing the city through their perspective brings so much more meaning to the journey. Every person I meet adds something unique to the adventure, and that mix of cultures, ideas, and moments makes traveling unforgettable.

Interests

My interests are pretty diverse and always evolving. Sports have been a big part of my life, especially volleyball. It is more than just a game for me. It has taught me discipline, resilience, and the value of teamwork. Many of the lessons I have learned on the court continue to guide me in life.

Beyond sports, I am passionate about business and finance. I enjoy staying curious, following trends, and thinking about how things work in the bigger picture. Politics also fascinates me because of its real impact on people and how it shapes the world we live in.

I also love reading. Whether it is a novel, a biography, or something thought-provoking about current events, books help me see things from different angles and give me space to reflect.

These interests help me grow and connect with people from all kinds of backgrounds. I believe curiosity and an open mind go a long way in making every experience more meaningful.

Music, Movies, and Books

Music
My taste in music is eclectic and always changing. I often enjoy high-energy songs that lift my mood and keep me moving. Other times, I prefer slower, calming melodies that help me unwind. I listen to a bit of everything, from Slovak music that reminds me of home, to Indie, Pop, and Rock. Each genre has something special to offer, and I love how music can capture different emotions and stories.

Books
I am an avid reader and always looking for books that challenge me or help me grow. Some of my favourites include The Monk Who Sold His Ferrari, which made me think deeply about happiness and purpose. Tuesdays with Morrie really touched me with its honest look at life and relationships. I also found The Almanack of Naval Ravikant full of valuable insights about wealth, decision-making, and self-awareness. I enjoy books that leave me with new ideas and a fresh perspective.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I went to very crazy Roller coaster.

What I Can Share with Hosts

What I Can Share with Hosts
I always try to bring good energy wherever I go. I’m a positive person by nature and usually have a smile on my face. I believe small things like kindness, curiosity, and good conversation can turn a regular stay into a memorable experience.

I’m happy to share stories from my travels, lessons I’ve picked up from books, and insights from my work in business and finance. If you're into sports, I have a few good volleyball stories too.

Food is also a big part of my culture, and I’d love to cook something Slovak if you’re curious to try it. If you're up for a deeper chat, I’m always interested in talking about ideas, trends, or even just everyday life.

More than anything, I want to connect and learn from others. I bring a little piece of where I come from, and I hope to leave with a better understanding of where you come from too.
