ABOUT ME

Well, ALL about me would be a little hard to fit on this website...
I love to travel, I am amazed by diffferent cultures and languages. I like my job at at a German publishing company, though our newspapers and magazines are mainly written for the financial world. I try to make my PHD-project my passion, doesn't always work out though.
My spare spare time I like to spend with friends, going out or to the gym. I love Hamburg, my home city. If I have time, I am a very good tour guide: I am a historian, and grew up in this city plus my English isn't that bad. :-)

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I started to host occasionally, preferable international guests from all over the world, after I came back from a year in Holland and Indonesia, and missed the international community way to much :-)
In 2008 I surfed couches in the US and was amazed by the great hospitality of all my marvelous hosts :-)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Overall I had great surfers and marvelous hosts :-) I am really interested in meeting people from other countries this way.

Music, Movies, and Books

I like to read novels by Siri Hustvedt, but sometimes also more relaxing stories where I do not have to think to much. I read a lot complicated stuff for my studies...
I like folky music, which is a bit poppy like Amy MacDonals, A Fine Frency or Jewel; when I go out, I like to listen to rock and old rock n roll music, though
My taste in movies varies a lot, sometimes I really love scifi, then again I am more into historical or romantic stuff like Robin Hood

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I've been on an active volcano in Indonesia, and swam with a shark in Hawaii.
