Hi, I'm Bouwe. I am a full-time student of Industrial Design in Delft. I always had dreams of travelling the world and after I finished Highschool my first big trip was Interrailing through Europe with two friends. This was also my first time Couchsurfing.

I want to discover new places and meet people with different mindsets across the world. I seek to experience the true ambience of a city by meeting up with locals. I remember how my first CS-hosts have given me the best memories of travelling through cities. Sightseeing surely is great but a view of the city with personal stories is purely unique and always memorable.

I'm not much of a reader, however, I always like The Handmaids tale and Tomorrow when the war began.

I walked the Pasterze, it's a glacier at the bottom of the Großgrockner in Austria. Because of the hard wind, it was colder than usual but it was an awesome experience to walk the glacier and to see the many cracks from up close, sometimes over 30 meters deep, in the thick layer of ice.

Cycle through Barcelona with my hosts, they rode their bicycles like maniacs. Took no notice of red lights, cars, buses, or anything else. They rode through traffic like it was a game, but managed to keep me safe, luckily.

Whale watching in Akureyri, Iceland, it's incredible to see these huge animals yourself. They are colossal yet elegant while moving through the water.
