About Me
Hello everyone!
My name is Ekko from China. I'm freshman in Couchsurfing. I'm currently on a working holiday in Australia, exploring and experiencing as much as I can. I used to live in the USA and Japan, which ignited my passion for travel and cultural exchange.
I have a background in hotel management, and I've worked in hotels, restaurants, and internet companies. My hobbies include hiking and meditation, which help me connect with nature and find inner peace. I'm enthusiastic, open-minded, and I love making new friends from around the world.
As a Couchsurfer, I am looking forward to hosting travelers and also being hosted, sharing stories and creating unforgettable memories together. I hope to know the local lifestyle and culture more intimately.
Looking forward to meeting you and making new connections!
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I joined Couchsurfing because I believe that the best way to experience a place is by living like a local. There's something incredibly enriching about diving into the local culture and seeing life from a new perspective. I think everyone has unique life experiences, and I love exchanging stories with strangers. It's always fascinating to hear about the different paths people have taken and the lessons they've learned along the way. I'm also very keen on making friends with people from all walks of life. Couchsurfing offers the perfect platform to connect, share, and grow together. I'm excited to be part of this community and can't wait to explore more of the world in this uniquely personal way.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
One of the most transformative experiences I've had was participating in a 10-day Vipassana meditation retreat. Vipassana, which means to see things as they really are, is one of India's most ancient techniques of meditation. This silent retreat required complete disconnection from the outside world, including no talking, no phone use, and no reading or writing. Each day was spent in meditation from early morning till night, focusing on deep self-observation.
The purpose of this intense meditation practice is to purify the mind, developing deep insights into the nature of reality and oneself. It's a challenging but incredibly rewarding experience that has taught me a great deal about resilience, inner peace, and clarity. This experience has profoundly impacted my perspective on life and continues to influence how I engage with the world and the people around me.
