ABOUT ME

I'm a student, biggest part of my life at the moment is learning - however, not limited to my bachelor specialization (Japanology). I'm a sophisticated person, and may sometimes seem cold or arrogant, but don't let this baffle you - bear with it if you want or tell me you notice and don't like it and I'll try to correct my interaction patterns ;)
I think in a wild medley of all the languages I'm learning or already know, so the more languages we have in common, the more comfortable I'd feel, because the bridge mind-speech would get broader.
I adore cats, I've grown up with them and can't imagine living without them. I also had a dog, but cats are my favourites. Up until now I've lived only 2 years (19-21) without a pet at home - and since Sept.09 I have a cat again - it's bliss ^__^

PHILOSOPHY

I'm an agnostic and realist/pessimist. However, in my opinion, the readiness for the worst things to happen gives us plenty of opportunities to be glad when these expectations do not come true. So outside I may often seem a quite cheerful person.

Interests

Music (playing and listening to) - mostly into industrial, gothic and electronic stuff, some folk and rock as well. See "Movies/Music/Books" for a short list of favourite bands/interpreters.
Reading books - fantasy and sci-fi as favourites, cultural and philosophic topics by education profile. See "Movies/Music/Books" for a short list of favourite authors.
Computer games - I like strategies and RPG, but don't play much, because atm I have only a MacBook, which doesn't support much gaming. I play eve-online more or less regularly.
Anime - well, I like many sci-fi, utopian and (post-)apocalyptic animes, as well as mechas and vampire-related stuff ^__^ As an excuse I always say, that I'm watching so much anime to practice my Japanese (which actually does improve ;) especially the pronunciation)
Martial arts. Aikido is my favorite, I'm practicing it for over 5 years now. I also did karate for 1 year and tried (2 months) kung-fu.
Linguistics/Philology. I love learning new languages, or just learning things about new languages. My biggest interest is Japanese/Chinese on one side and celtic/germanic languages on the other side (of the world ;) ). I also love to tell/explain other people things I find interesting, and do that very often - so you should not hesitate to interrupt me if the subject is uninteresting to you ;)
