About Me

ABOUT ME

I'm an adventurous, free-spirited girl looking to explore the world. I grew up on the beaches of Cape Cod, a small sleepy town on the coast of Massachusetts. After living in Los Angeles then Boston I moved to San Diego for a year and developed my love for any activity that involves the ocean. After spending a few months in Australia's Burleigh Heads I've fallen in love with surfing and will now be chasing the waves wherever I go!

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

It's such a great way to meet people when traveling. I'm a more introverted person so meeting people out and about just doesn't really happen for me. If I'm at a hostel, sure that's easy to meet other travelers, but meeting locals is what I'm all about. I want to see a city from their point of view and see things that most tourists wouldn't even know were there.

Interests

I love trying things for the first time, I'll do (most) anything once! I enjoy meeting new people, traveling, cooking/eating, reading, dancing, and pretty much all of the outdoor activities such as hiking, biking, (attempting to) surf, longboarding and chilling on the beach watching the sunset.

Music, Movies, and Books

If it's music I can dance to I appreciate it, I don't watch or remember many movies, and I'm a total book nerd and in most cases if I'm alone I have my nose buried in a book.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Swimming under a full moon in Costa Rica with some really inspiring new friends along with bioluminesence that lit up every move we made in the water. When we got out we were all still glowing from the little organisms(like avatar) and we passed a bottle of Guaro around a bonfire and talked all night. One of the most uplifting and unbelieveable nights I ever had!

My very first trip out of the country was to Honduras on a mission trip when I was 16. We helped build houses for battered women and their children. Before going I was prepared to see some really sad people and was a little scared. When I got there, their welcoming to us and their genuine happiness was overwhelmingly unexpected. They were perfectly content with their broken down houses and their kids played with crates as if they were the newest thing in technology. This was such an eye-opening experience and helped me to take note of the little things in life and look at the world with new appreciation.

Teach, Learn, Share

I think we can all do a bit of each, that's why we're all here isn't it?
