currently, i am on an open-ended journey: no destination and no idea how things will turn out. i lived in belgium for 14 years but returned to the USA last year. for the past year i've lived in Dallas but that turned out to be quite a difficult and fruitless experience, in terms of getting settled. so, i decided to just go out there and see where i end up. unfortunately, that means i am not able to host at the moment, but you can rest assured that once i have a place that allows me to do so, i will! i have been a member of CS since 2009 and i take it seriously. i am not verified - on principle and because i can not afford to pay for it - so please read my references and look over my experience if you have doubts about my character. as far as i'm concerned, i pay for couchsurfing by participating (i've organized and attended events), hosting, surfing, and helping travelers out when i can.

i'm a feminist, anti-fascist, gay christian (and probably a bunch of other bad words). i'm an honest, down-to-earth dreamer. i like people and i care about the world. i'm honest, respectful, clear, and communicative.

for me, couchsurfing is about the socio-cultural experience... touring the city, sharing a meal, having a drink, seeing/discussing a movie/exhibit/show/etc. i expect that we will spend meaningful time together if possible.

nudity isn't a problem for me - i am not afraid of other people's bodies or ashamed of my own. i'm appropriately clothed when i have guests, but if you feel more comfortable in a nude environment, we can discuss it. (however, this is NOT an invitation for romance or sex. please do not have that expectation.)

charity instead of gifts: when you surf with me, you are not expected or required to bring a gift. in fact, i'm rather against it. if you are a gift-giver, use the money instead to help others in need (donate to a charity or give it to someone who is in need). when you're here, just enjoy yourself and be respectful - we'll be each other's gifts to one another, and that's good enough for me. :)

i'm open to hosting people with little or no CS experience and people with no references. a nicely filled-out profile with a clear, updated pic will help your chances. ;)

if you are looking for a free couch and nothing more, BE HONEST AND OPEN ABOUT IT! it might be possible that i can host you and your indifference and anti-social demeanor are compatible with how i'm feeling that day. (let's face it, being social can be exhausting and just having a couch without having to hang out can be refreshing in its own way.) i'll decide what fits best with me and let you know. i'd rather have a guest that's clear about not wanting to hang out or be social than to have a dishonest guest who sent a sugar-coated profile just to get a couch. my kindness does not depend on your kindness, but please do not use or abuse it.

books: fantasy, science fiction, and general fiction - but overall, i just love books. (the 'dune' series by frank herbert and the 'sandman' series by neil gaiman are some of my favorite books. and poetry by pablo neruda is wow.)
