About Me

Just a heads up, I realize that we have a relatively low response rate. I do check often, but not every day. Sometimes we get last-minute requests (which I try to get to, I promise!) that expire before I log in to the site.

"Find Joy in Every Journey"

I am a dedicated friend and hard worker. I have devoted myself to public service, and have worked as a California State Beach Lifeguard for the past 11 years. I have an adventurous spirit, an ambitious attitude, and I love to just share experiences or make new ones with good people.

I am currently training to be a high school science teacher! Alexis is the marketing specialist for a local real estate company in San Clemente.

"Improvise, Adapt, Overcome"
Nothing in life can ruin you unless you let it; at the end of the day, its better to laugh than cry.

I live a life to communicate passion and experiences, and believe that the worth of a soul is measured by the impact on the people it encounters.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I want to get to know as many people as I can in this world, and make the best memories with those people. Life is about stories, and I want to make one worth talking about.

We traveled through Europe for 5 weeks, staying with people in 7 different countries. Our experiences being hosted were all positive!

Alexis and I host people pretty regularly, at least 1 individual/group per month. We have had a great time getting to know so many different people and sharing experiences with them!

I love everything about the ocean: sailing, spear fishing, surfing, swimming, body surfing, wildlife photography. I also enjoy skiing, cooking, playing music (I'm an avid bass player), and tasting good beer! I spend a lot of time talking with people about anything and everything. Life is nothing without good people to share it with, and there is little I enjoy more than meeting an amazing new person.

Music, Movies, and Books

Any surfing/skiing/snowboarding/mountaineering film is popular with me.
Alexis is a novel enthusiast, and wants to be a novelist one day. She can talk anyone into enjoying poetry and the finer points of classic literature.

I (Brad) play the bass, guitar, drums, ukulele, and any other instrument I can get my hands on. I love all kinds of music, whether it be classical, blues, rock, reggae, techno, hip-hop, and the list goes on. If you're passionate about it, I will take the time to listen. Jam sessions are welcome! You're welcome to play my instruments if you haven't brought your own.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of the most remarkable moments in my life was the first time I truly saved someone when lifeguarding. I was 18 years old, and had just opened up my tower when I noticed a group of small children get knocked over in the shorebreak at my beach, and they began to get sucked out in a rip current. I immediately grabbed anything from my tower that could float, and dove in after them. I had to swim in six children at once, and when I got to shore, their mother was on her knees crying and thanking me. I was just doing my job, but it was then that I realized I could actually make a difference in the world and affect someone in a tangible way. I will never forget the look in her eyes.

Another great memory of mine was the first backpacking trip I took with my girlfriend, Alexis. We decided that the campground in Idylwild was too crowded for us, so we packed up our gear and headed up to Suicide Rock (a beautiful location despite its ominous name). Being up there with only her and sharing the first true moments of our love together was a remarkably life changing experience, and one I know I will carry with me the rest of my life.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can show you why the ocean is my life, and how something so beautiful can be so powerful. The sunset is my closing sermon, and a stormy day is my confession. I love every aspect of nature, and can't wait to show you the ocean and all its magnificence.
