Über mich
So, first up — I’m a bit more laid-back these days than some of my old reviews or wild-eyed photos might suggest. Still very much into long chats over good food and a cold beer, just with less reckless abandon and a lot more appreciation for a full night’s sleep.
I spend a lot of time wondering about things most people don’t think about — and forgetting where I put my keys. I like good company, simple plans, and the kind of days that don’t need too much structure.
I’ve always been more curious than organised, which is great for ideas and terrible for packing. I like people with a good sense of timing — especially when it comes to stories, silence, or sarcasm.
Small talk’s not my strong suit, but give me a big question, a weird idea, or the chance to rave about my favourite conifers, and I’m all in. Tall, tough, quietly magnificent — what’s not to love?
I don’t care much about job titles. I’d rather be known for how I show up: a bit scruffy, a bit thoughtful, a bit stubborn — but soft where it counts.
Warum ich bei Couchsurfing bin
Back when I lived in Canada, I hosted often; in the U.S., I surfed as much as possible. Met some brilliant humans along the way. Thought I’d dip back into the Couchsurfing world and see what kind of stories are still floating around out there.

Musik, Filme und Bücher
I like music that moves — sometimes slow and smoky, sometimes wired and wild. A good track should either lift the room or break your heart a little. The best ones do both.
Eine tolle Erfahrung, die ich gemacht habe
I once sat at the top of Phnom Bakheng with a Buddhist monk and a French traveller, talking about life as three storm fronts rolled in from different directions. The particulars of the conversation have since left me — but the silence before the lightning, the wind picking up, and the sky tearing open as the cells converged will never leave me.
