About Me

Be a good teacher, tell a great story.

I like to show rather than tell, so here's a snapshot of a moment in my life.

There isn't much that we can be certain about, but love is pretty crucial. I stick with love.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I've been a surfer for several years now. Whenever I'm in a bind in a strange city, this community is always there, ready to take me in and share their world.

Manhattan, New York, New York (USA) for a week.

Bus trip from Charlotte to Atlanta, then Cincinnati, and up to Chicago. I surfed in all of those locations but Charlotte.

Bombay (Mumbai), Maharashtra, India for 4 days.

Adelaide, Australia.

Reading good books, exploring the outdoors, meditation, cooking, photography, traveling to strange places, learning new skills, meeting amazing people, making life as beautiful as possible.

I also keep a blog.

Music, Movies, and Books

Stephen King's "Dark Tower" series, "the Long Walk", and "the Green Mile"
Darren Shan's "Cirque Du Freak" series (I was young, c'mon)
"The Hunger Games"
"World War Z"
Thoreau's "Walden"
Jack Kerouac's "On the Road"
Anything by Michio Kaku
I mostly read nonfiction and informational stuff.

Whatever fits my mood. When entertaining folks, I usually ask my friends to "name a color and a shape" and then I choose tracks to play from there.

I really dig Thievery Corporation, Kings of Leon, Flying Lotus, Bonobo, Nujabes, Houndmouth, The Black Keys, The Arctic Monkeys, Nightmares on Wax, and Pretty Lights, and Gary Clark Jr..

Mad Max; Fury Road, Django, Eternal Sunshine for the Spotless Mind, Cloud Atlas, The Fountain, Inception, War of the Worlds, Cloverfield, 300, Knowing, I am Legend, Star Trek, The Matrix, The Dark Night trilogy, AI, Heavy Metal, The Wall, Donnie Darko, Fear and Loathing, Charlie Bartlett, and The Truman Show all deserve a mention.

Adventure Time, Game of Thrones, and Breaking Bad are my top series.
