ABOUT ME

I grew up in a small town in Alabama in the United States. I worked in IT support for 10 years and in 2009, bored with my work, I decided to move to Thailand and go to university.

Over the years I've become interested in organic farming, Permaculture and organizations like WWOOF. When I first saw Geoff Lawton's video on food forests, I had to learn more.

I'm also a language geek. When I moved to Thailand I failed my university Thai class so I started learning about how adults learn second languages and I enjoy talking about what I've learned. You can read the whole story on my website: http://bradonomics.com/.

Couchsurfing has been great so far. I've only surfed once with an American guy in Japan. He was very hospitable and made my first experience a great one.

I like Permaculture, Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts, Linguistics, Economics ... a wide variety of things. I'm sure we can find something to talk about.

I've fought Mixed Martial Arts in Portland, Oregon, USA.

I've ridden motorcycles through the mountains of northern Thailand.

Assuming the space is big enough, we could learn Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. But since most people don't like wrestling, I could teach you Crosstalk.

Crosstalk is based on the Automatic Language Growth method of language learning. Let's say an American is visiting Thailand and doesn't speak Thai. He can use Crosstalk to speak with Thai people who don't understand English using drawings and actions to convey meaning. It's a much more fun (and fast) way to speak with Thai people than studying flash cards and grammar books. And the best part, once you learn the techniques you can use it with any language.
