I often end up traveling solo, so its nice to be able to meet up with locals in a new city who can give me suggestions and advice, or even show me around. It's also an easy way to meet other travelers who want to hang out, grab some drinks, and explore. And let's be honest, when traveling on a budget it's always nice to find a free place to spend the night :)
