ABOUT ME

Let's see. I've got 3 cats. I'm moving to the Bay area from Athens, GA where I was in a Sociology grad program for one year before I found out I didn't want to be a professor. My partner found a job in the Bay area so we're moving to the area in September. Neither of us has even been to California before so we're really not sure what to expect.

What else - I lived in Madison, WI for 2 years which I absolutely loved. I grew up in Dallas but lived in Austin for about 5 years - another place I loved. I'm a pretty laid back guy who enjoys trying new things.

PHILOSOPHY

I'm not sure that I have a personal philosophy. I try to do good and live my life in a way so that everything I do results in a net positive effect. I recycle, eat vegan, participate in causes that I believe in, and play with my kitties.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm new to CouchSurfing. I signed up because my partner and I are coming to the Bay area to look for a place, and I figured this would be a good way to meet people and find out info about the city. Hopefully once we find a place it'll work out so that we can open our home to couchsurfers as well.

兴趣

I love vegan food - cooking it, eating it, talking about it, looking at it, you name it. I love great movies, good music, interesting books, cool people. I enjoy doing outdoorsy stuff like camping, swimming, hiking, and bicycling.

I love all kinds of movies, music, and books. Some of my favorite movies are Being John Malkovich, Eternal Sunshine of the Spotless Mind, American Beauty, Hable con Ella (or anything by Pedro Almodovar), Punch-Drunk Love, and Bullets Over Broadway. As for music, I'm into Sufjan Stevens, The Knife, Camera Obscura, Destroyer, Bjork, Radiohead, Air, Final Fantasy, and tons of other stuff. I'm the son of a librarian, so I love reading, but I have a soft spot for Kurt Vonnegut and J.K. Rowling.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

This summer I got to hold an Indri Lemur when a mobile petting zoo came to the summer camp I was working at. That was pretty much my dream come true.
