About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I would live to meet some great people and make some connections for my future travel

ABOUT ME

I am a college student at Virginia Tech. I study have been studying Architecture for the past 5 years and I am about to finish! I am planning to move across the country after this summer and try living in CA for a while.

Right now I am living in a 3 bedroom apartment with a sweet back porch. One of my favorite things to do is have an evening on the porch, cooking out, drinking, with music and friends, watching the sun set.

I love the mountains of Southwest VA, I have lived here all my life. I love the snow here, but more than that I love the warm summer weather. My summer months include biking everywhere in town, going tubing down the river, hiking, swimming under the cascades waterfall, going camping near Mountain Lake, and building a fire pit in the back yard.

I love to grow my own vegetables and herbs in a container garden on the back porch, haha and there is nothing better that homemade, spicy, picked green beans.

My 2 roomates are great people, they are also on this site. They are Amy Almarode and Jenifer Cleveland,
We have a record player each of us have our own collection of records that include a mixture of old and new albums.

My ideal Saturday includes waking up and taking a trip to the farmers market, then having breakfast at the bakery, followed by the weekly wine tasting at the vintage cellar.

PHILOSOPHY

Let yourself enjoy life. Material things and social constraints often prevents a people from being happy with the talents they are given. Let yourself explore the world without restraints.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I host
I surf

I love to travel and meet new people along the way. What I value most about this site is the ability to have a travel experience that is more personal. I love learning about other people and their perspective on life. This site offers amazing insight into the lifestyles of others.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have had several great experiences with couch surfers:
I have hosted travelers from Germany, China, and an exchange student from France.
I have hosted a visiting professor from my university on my couch until he found an apartment in town.
We were host to a group of traveling musicians who played at a local venue.
I have hosted some great people that just needed a place to crash while driving though.
I have surfed in NYC and had a great time up there meeting new people.

Interests

I love: design, unique urban spaces, walkable communities, mountains, camping, picking blueberries, cooking, girl scout cookies, good coffee made in a french press, growing things, good music, dancing, knee high snow, vibrant and saturated colors, refurbishing furniture, making pottery, and much much more.
