CURRENT MISSION
Renaissance Man, retired young at 55, will be traveling the world for the next decade or so at least. I am a photographer and also write my own travel blog The Wandering Honeybadger, by Brant Bady, at http://thewanderinghoneybadger.com As a traveler, I recommend you check out my images and blog because I think you will find your time will be well spent.
ABOUT ME
Very adventurous guy, I enjoy sailing (6000+ miles racing & cruising), scuba diving (stopped counting at 5000 hours underwater) / snorkeling, photography, gourmet cooking, cinema, music, but traveling is my passion now, 44 countries/etc so far:
Brazil, Argentina, Antarctica, Chile, Uruguay, Cuba, Philippines, Australia, Peru, Ecuador, India, Maldives, Sri Lanka, Marshall Islands, Thailand, Myanmar, Malaysia, Indonesia, Singapore, Vietnam, Cambodia, Laos, New Zealand, Trinidad & Tobago, Grenada, Barbados, Mexico, Belize, Guatemala, Honduras, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Panama, Holland, Austria, Slovakia, Italy, Greece, Spain, France, Sweden, Croatia, USA, Canada
Other Stuff: Have done a bit of skiing in challenging conditions, one trip white water rafting (got sucked down to the bottom of the river for a couple of minutes), having a baby killer whale lock its mouth over my wrist, swam with a variety of sharks, been bitten by the "giant Pacific octopus" as well as an otter, held my breath and swam down to 60 ft, been in a head on car crash, sailed in many storms..... by my account I only have a couple of my nine lives left, so I look for really good adventures now..
My own upcoming trips are:
Spring/Summer 2018 Czech Repub. (Prague), Kenya, Tanzania, Turkey, dive the Red Sea, Egypt, Germany (Hamburg)
Winter 2019 - Asia
Summer 2019 - Tonga & Whales
PHILOSOPHY
Treat others as you would like to be treated, be polite & respectful, be kind to the earth & environment.
My favorite quote about traveling:
"Of the gladest moments in human life, methinks is the departure upon a distant journey to unknown lands. Shaking off with one mighty effort the fetters of habit, the leaden weight of Routine, the cloak of many Cares and the Slavery of Home, man feels once more happy."
Sir Richard Burton,
Journal Entry (2 December 1856)

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
My first real job was working as a scuba diver who wrestled with a giant octopus, in front of tourists.. seriously... I was fired after my first day, but talked my way into coming back the day after.. The job had its perks, I had the opportunity to swim with a baby killer whale on a number of occasions, the problem was it thought I was its playtoy!
Teach, Learn, Share
I have quite a lot of experience in photography, sailing, scuba diving, computers, traveling around the world., and in both eating and cooking damn tasty food.
