ABOUT ME

I think I have a tapeworm inside of me: I'm always hungry...

I'm a thinker. I play both sides of a debate, for the sake of the mental exercise. I like trying to figure it out knowing full well that I'm a complete maniac for even trying, but feeling proud for having attempted.

I like the sound of my own voice. I tend to swing between taking myself way, way too seriously, and thinking I'm full of uncooked shit. Probably most of the human race feels that way, but there it is.

I'm in love with both the city and the wood. I see wisdom in both, so I try to spend equal time in them. I'm into making music and listening to music, especially with other people. It's more than a fancy- it's a love affair. For me, as I would assume with most musicians, it's right up there with breathing, food, and water.

Stories of Jesus's death always make me cry. And I'm not religious. I lose it when Charlotte from "Charlotte's Web" drops dead. Lose it! I don't understand it either. The one book I'd give to the world: "The Prophet" by Kahlil Gibran.

I love the opportunity to help those near me. I smile in the face of personal tragedy or tragedy around me because I know it'll furnish all those involved with the opportunity to grow exponentially.

I'm a sucker for fart jokes in movies: it never, ever fails to get me laughing. In real life, I don't find them so funny...

Oh, I forgot to add an important point: I absolutely WILL NOT eat duck of any sort, unless tricked, which would be very cruel of the person who tricked me. I would have to be starving to eat a duck and would then consider it cannibalism even though I am not a duck.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

TWO AMAZING THINGS:
After having sung the Bonze in Madame Butterfly, I am outside the theater waiting for my bow. The theater is in actuality a huge Naval Citadelle on Belle Ile off the coast of Brittany. Everyone is inside except me, performers, audience, and crew. It is night. Then the humming chorus starts.... And I can picture Madame Butterfly watch, with her boy in her arms for a ship that will never come as one of the single most exquisite pieces of music is hummed. I listen, alone, with only the night, the stars and the sea breeze as my companions...
-My nights in Paris.... 6 nights, with a beautiful girl in one arm and a bottle of wine and bread in the other- this is maintained in a constant state for 6 straight days and nights with only a little sleep to interrupt it... We are drunk with life and love and the wine was only an aperitif to what was the real thing that intoxicated us. Walked all of Paris by foot as we were poor- but even if I had all the wealth in the world I wouldn't have changed a single moment.
