I'm a semi-retired wildlife biologist and a passionate explorer and birder. I'm also an amateur musician. I'm adventurous, down-to-earth, thoughtful, and unpretentious. When I travel I usually do volunteer work and try to get to know the locals rather than being the typical tourist.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had great experiences as a couchsurfer in several countries and am hoping for more! I've also enjoyed hosting and exploring with other surfers.

I enjoy just about any outdoor activities that don't involve damaging the environment. I especially like hiking, paddling, birdwatching, and general nature study. I also like eating out, dancing, and experiencing other cultures, lifestyles, and perspectives.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

Working in Antarctica was truly one of the most incredible things I will ever do; the scenery was nonstop jawdropping. I've been skydiving and hang-gliding, both of which were pretty amazing. But even a simple sunset can leave me speechless.

If you have any interest at all in birds, I'm the perfect guest! If not, well, I'll try to be anyway! I also make a mean Dutch baby (look it up).
