ABOUT ME
I am a student at the University of Oregon, studying for a bachelors of education in family and human services. My career goals are to empower parents and youth to reach their personal aspirations and expectations of themselves. I intend to go to graduate school in the next 2 years. I grew up in both Eugene and Newport, Oregon. I am in love with the Pacific Ocean and Oregon Coast: I love to visit, but not my favorite place to live. I am the oldest of six children and I have six parents (between biological, step and guardians).
My partner, Michael, and I have been together for about 2 years. He works at a local restaurant and is a pizza artist. He plays the bass guitar. His hometown in Albuquerque, New Mexico and he lived in Newport, Oregon for several years. We intend to travel when I am done with my undergraduate studies this Spring.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing
HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING
At this time, I am months away from finishing my undergraduate studies at the University of Oregon.
I plan to host until late summer 2014.
In late summer 2014, my partner, Michael, and I will begin an American cross-country road trip.
COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE
My first experience with Couchsurfing.com is from a house that I used to live in with six roommates and we hosted many couch-surfers. During that time, we shared our communal home with interesting, beautiful and diverse people from all over the world, many of which are still my friends to this day.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I took a SPONTANEOUS cross-country road trip in the summer after my freshman year of high school at the age of 15 years old. I was homeless at the time and left in a van with five people, only one of which I knew previous (for about 6 months). I lost my group in Western Texas, and proceeded to hitch-hike through America's Deep South and up the Atlantic Coast to Boston. In Boston, I couch-surfed the old fashioned way by meeting new people (and practically begging new friends) to give me a some floor space. I eventually found a roommate situation with my hosts.
As a youth, this was one of the most exhilarating and empowering experiences that I ever had. Even when traveling was tough, I loved every moment of my trip.
