About Me

Musician/scientist/teacher/student/traveller/diver/conservationist/humanist.

From 2010, I spent 6 years moving through East Africa, India, S.E. Asia, Central America, North America and sailed across the Pacific. I often try to travel through countries slowly and sometimes work as a SCUBA instructor while doing so. More recently I spent 9 months living on a remote island in East Timor working as a diver and have now come to Europe for the first time. I currently live in Lausanne, Switzerland.

I'm into science and have university qualifications in Pharmacology, Psychology, Cognitive and Behavioural Neuroscience, and Teaching. In particular, I enjoy conversations about how we perceive and interpret the world around us and social happenings in order to construct our reality.

When I'm in New Zealand, I often work as a secondary school teacher. I'm good at working with people and teaching allows me to be at the service of others.

I'm really into music, play several instruments and write and produce my own compositions. My musical tastes are quite diverse and I'm always keen to check out original music where ever I go. I'm currently working on some heavier progressive rock compositions fused with elements from electronic dance music. I'm also into more ambient stuff, folktronica, ethnic music, glitchy bass music, drum n bass...all sorts really. You can listen to some of my works in progress @ https://soundcloud.com/hiroshima-sunset/tracks

I'm a very active person and enjoy getting into the ocean/mountains/forest as much as possible. I believe that being in a clean natural environment is psychologically beneficial and I support any behaviours people carry out to reduce their impact and support the natural environment. I detest the wasteful aspects of modern life.

I am a creative and passionate person who enjoys the road less travelled. I particularly enjoy talking to people who are not afraid of exploring ideas that challenge the status quo and people who are open to the opinions of others. I like to be around people who try to have a positive impact on the world around them and the people they share it with.
