ABOUT ME

If you asked my best friends about me, they would probably say some pretty nice things about me, and I hope that one day you would too! I am a 6' 180 lbs. white male who loves working out, learning new things, and trying new food. If I won the lottery I would invest it at 3% and travel on it for the rest of my life. It doesn't take a lot to do something spectacular with your life, and so that is what I plan on doing. I want to be the old man children come to visit to here the stories of my travels.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I love good food, good beer and good company. I like to surround myself with interesting people, and talk about things that matter. I write sometimes, but only when I have something worth reading to say, and I prefer doing to planning, although I do a lot of both. I love sports of all kinds, and once completed the Toronto "Tough Mudder" with the help of some friends. I love to learn new things, and will go out of my way to get lost and have an adventure. Nothing in the world is worse than being bored, and I would rather do something I am not qualified for than be an expert at something menial. I enjoy traveling, although it is expensive, and like I said, I enjoy good food. I am a decent chef, but I am learning all the time, and am always willing to buy a beer for someone willing to have a good conversation.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I have never Couchsurfed officially, but I have done my fair share of surfing on couches. I am just recently traveling more on my own, and would love to expand my horizons and meet a few people. Having a place to sleep is always a bonus, but I have made due sleeping on cabin floors and in snow-covered tents.

Music, Movies, and Books

My favourite book right now is "The 4 Hour Body" by Tim Ferriss, as I am fascinated in how my body interacts with the world.
I have a very wide taste in music, and can be convinced to listen to just about anything. If you don't like a kind of music, you just don't understand it where it is coming from.
I also really enjoy reading articles, as I find most novels too lengthy to dedicate myself to, and I generally scour GOOD magazine online or watch TED talks when I get the opportunity.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have gone skiing in the Austrian Alps, played a piece by Vivaldi in the church where he wrote it in Venice, and spun the world's largest roullette wheel in Las Vegas.

Teach, Learn, Share

I am a self-proclaimed expert in English, particularly resume writing and business documents, although I have no formal training in the area.
I am a decent cook when I have a budget to be, and am always willing to try something new and teach what I have learned.
I am a student of engineering, but a lover of design in all of its forms, and enjoy discussing and learning about the world around me and how it interacts with itself.
I am a mediocre musician at best, but can carry a tune, and would be happy to join in any musical number.
I am a relatively good soccer player, by Canadian standards, and though my skill may not be great, my hard work generally makes up for this.
