ABOUT ME

I'm a 6th year Arts/Law student from Brisbane, Australia, currently studying Japanese on a year's exchange in the wonderful Kobe, Japan.

I'd like to think of myself as an easy-going, open-minded, eager-to-learn individual. I have a particular interest in travelling and learning languages, and in 05/06 I spent an amazing year and a half studying Mandarin at universities in Beijing and Shanghai.

During my travels, mainly through Asia, i have been amazed at the kindness people (of all means) have shown me on so many occasions. By far, my fondest travel memories all revolve around people i have met along the way and the strong friendships forged in remarkably short periods of time. That Couch Surfing makes this process even easier, i think is a wonderful thing!

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I'm relatively new to Couch Surfing and have thus fur only surfed one balcony in Matsuyama, Japan. I'm hoping to increase the tally before i head back home to Oz!

Unfortunately, I am currently living in a small, relatively strict dormitory and am unable to host at the moment, but am looking forward to returning the favour when i have the chance, wherever it may be!

兴趣

Particularly interested in the art of learning languages. I love watching foreigners speak fluent Japanese/Chinese on tv. I really enjoy low-budget, low-comfort, essentially unplanned travel. I enjoy very much talking/watching/reading about politics/elections/policy initiatives and hearing the word 'white paper'. Strumming a guitar/hitting a drum/fumbling with a harmonica/singing poorly with friends and beers is a lovely thing. Formerly a Luddite, I've recently developed an interest in the wonders of computers and the internet, though currently still pretty technologically inept.
