About Me
CURRENT MISSION
Do good, be good, and see as much of the world as possible!
ABOUT ME
I'm an eternal student seeking to learn as much as possible about the world while leaving it better than I found it. Born and raised in Virginia, USA, I spent a total of eight years living in the Dominican Republic, first as a Peace Corps Volunteer and later working in the non-profit, tourism, and international development sectors. In 2024 I moved to Phoenix, AZ where I'm working on my PhD in Global Development. I'm drawn to languages, dabble in photography, devour books, and can't go a day without good coffee. In my free time I love to try new foods and recipes, explore nature, swim, rock climb, and chill with my cats and husband.
PHILOSOPHY
My life is empty if it is not used to improve the lives of others. Everything should go towards a greater purpose.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
To go to new places and meet new people! Couchsurfing has been a travel gamechanger for me; it really opens the door to new experiences that I never would have had staying in a hotel. I love hosting people from around the world, swapping stories, and offering guidance and facilitation for their exploration of my city.
Interests
Cooking, photography, writing, reading, swimming, jumping from heights into water, seeing things I've never seen before, teaching, learning, astronomy, history, studying languages.

Music, Movies, and Books
For music, I'm easy - I usually plug a song or artist into Spotify and let it take over.
I'll read anything, but have a special love for history.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
Flew along a 1000-foot long zip line that crossed a river in a rain forest of Costa Rica.
Teach, Learn, Share
I can talk about the history of the Americas for hours, especially as it relates to slavery and race. I can teach a few delicious recipes, and am always down to learn more. You can share with me stories from your life and travels.
What I Can Share with Hosts
A genuine curiosity in your life and community, language and history fun facts, and company in adventures.
