About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Do good, and be good. Improving the world while seeing the world.

ABOUT ME

I'm an eternal student seeking to learn as much as possible about the world while leaving it better than I found it. Born and raised in Virginia, I spent 3 years as a Peace Corps Volunteer in the Dominican Republic teaching literacy, training teachers, and developing life skills in youth. Then I went to NYU for a Masters Degree in Latin American and Caribbean Studies. I've since returned to the DR, where I have worked in the non-profit, tourism and international development sectors. I'm drawn to languages, dabble in photography, devour books, and can't go a day without good coffee.

PHILOSOPHY

My life is empty if it is not used to improve the lives of others. Everything should go towards a greater purpose.

Music, Movies, and Books

For music, I'm easy -- I'll really listen to anything, except maybe country and aggressive dubstep.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Flew along a 1000-foot long zip line that crossed a river in a rain forest of Costa Rica.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can talk about the history of the Americas for hours, especially as it relates to slavery and race. I can teach a few delicious recipes, and am always down to learn more. You can share with me stories from your life and travels.

What I Can Share with Hosts

A genuine curiosity in your life and community, language and history fun facts, and company in adventures.

Countries I’ve Visited

Colombia, Costa Rica, Ecuador, El Salvador, Fiji, France, Haiti, Ireland, Morocco, Portugal, Puerto Rico, United Kingdom

Countries I’ve Lived In

Dominican Republic, Spain, United States
