My name is Brendan McGill, I am 26 years old, and I am currently studying for a M.Sc. in Environmental Governance at Universität Freiburg.

I am from San Diego, got my Bachelors at Sonoma State University in northern California, and I spent a semester each at Uni-Tübingen and Uni-Stuttgart during my Bachelors. I worked as a GIS analyst for a few years, and spent my weekends playing drums in a band and brewing a lot of beer.

I am currently living in Freiburg with my girlfriend of 6+ years, we are looking to do some budget travel during semester breaks.

I am uncomplicated, open minded, and try my best to be a happy, chill guy. The exact opposite of loud, obnoxious, or argumentative.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

There is no better way to travel than cheap, and with a connection to the local culture. Couchsurfing is the only way to do that! I have stayed with two hosts so far- once in Leipzig and once in London. Both were amazing experiences with gracious hosts.

Interests

I have a fascination with cities, mostly old European cities-- so many walkable, beautiful, lively, and historic urban centers on this continent. I'm always happy just walking around a new place, taking pictures of buildings and streets that I'll probably never look at again. I don't need a heavy travel itinerary or crazy night out to feel like I got my moneys worth!

In my free time I enjoy music, PC gaming, weightlifting, beer, hiking, learning German.
