About Me

I manage a Climbing Gym. Outside of work I am a left of center urbanist who loves riding bikes, exploring new cities, eating great food and drinking a good beer here and there. I'm easy going adventurous and love meeting new people. I live with my wife and one of her adult children. I have three kids of my own. Two are on their own and one is almost there.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I first learned about couch surfing through some friends and roommates several years ago but had never tried it. In 2014 I joined in hopes of saving some money on a trip to Chicago. It worked I found a nice couple to stay with but haven't surfed since that trip.

Well, I've been doing a lot more solo travel over the last year and plan to take quite a few trips either to visit new cities to research/explore, catch a soccer game, and hopefully meet some new people/friends/allies along the way.

Planning to travel car free as much as possible so something close to public transit, with bike share or some nearby bike rental available.

If you have a bike I could use even better

Interests

I enjoy live music, good food and drinks. I love exploring new cities, riding bikes and taking public transit.

At the same time I love the outdoors. I love camping, hiking and rock climbing.

Music, Movies, and Books

I love all kinds of music but my favorites are underground and classic hip hop, punk, garage rock, and EDM.

Favorite authors Kurt Vonnegut and Tom Robbins. But now I read mostly non-fiction, history, urban planning, anything safe streets and biking related.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I can teach you to rock climb, or fix your bike....
