关于我

CURRENT MISSION

Current mission is... discovering my life's mission! I love travelling and meeting people, alas a recession era budget makes this difficult. I've heard great things about CS, so I'm giving it a try.

ABOUT ME

I am a recently graduated student, so am currently in limbo, finding the right 9-5 job that will hopefully lead to my career. In the meantime, I work as office support for a local law firm.

I am a dancer (the ballet barre kind, not the stripper pole kind) and a singer. I teach dance and perform with a local modern/contemporary group as well as perform in a band (www.themysteryband.com).

I spent my sophomore year of undergrad in Germany and usually go back once a year to visit friends. Last year I visited Russia, for dance. I've also been to France, Luxembourg, the UK, etc. I miss having international student friends, so I'm hoping CS will fill that void by providing me the opportunity to meet new people from around the world, and add new destinations to my travel resume :)

PHILOSOPHY

I am not religious, but I enjoy learning about other cultures and am certainly tolerant of other views.

I try to live one day at a time, with my highest goal being the enjoyment of the moment. I respect honesty and curiosity in people and feel that travel can remedy a great many social ills.

"Travel is fatal to prejudice, bigotry, and narrow-mindedness, and many of our people need it sorely on these accounts. Broad, wholesome, charitable views of men and things cannot be acquired by vegetating in one little corner of the earth all one's lifetime."
- Mark Twain, in Innocents Abroad

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I often have to travel to larger cities like Orlando, Atlanta, Miami, etc. for various auditions. Couch surfing would really help me cut down on travel costs so I can go to more auditions. That's my primary motivation for signing up.

I know jacksonville isn't exactly a world renown tourist destination, but for those of you planning to visit North East Florida, I would love to meet for coffee/movies/ etc. or exchange emails about what to do in the city.

I live in a neighborhood close to the downtown area where there is a great culture, with lots of events, festivals, museums, parks, etc. I am certainly open to hosting travelers in my apartment- technically on an air mattress, which is more comfortable than my couch. I have a small but comfortable 1 bedroom apartment, so keep that in mind when seeking accommodations. I also foster kittens for our local animal shelter, so beware if you aren't into cats.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

none through the site yet...

In Berlin I crashed with a girlfriend from Yemen, generally when in Germany I am the couch resident of my girlfriend from Russia and her Bulgarian boyfriend. I have stayed in hostels in Russia, France and Germany.

兴趣

Just about anything that is artistic. I love learning things, and learning about things. My degree is in Political Science, with minors in Economics and French, so there are always those.

I love food, wine, films and dancing.

I run a lot, and am pretty athletically inclined. I have taught English as a foreign language and teach dance now, s am always interested in meeting other teachers, regardless of the subject matter.

音乐、电影和书籍

I love old film noir and black and white films (Rebecca, Philadelphia Story, Gilda), will listen to nearly any kind of music (but have an embarrassing fondness for techno, especially for running and working out).

I am currently studying for the LSAT, an entrance exam for American law schools, so that takes up most of my reading time. I've recently begun reading Kurt Vonnegut, and also the novel Wicked.

I'm a big one for magazines, everything from The Economist and Newsweek to Vanity Fair.

我做过的一件不可思议的事情

I really loved seeing Versailles with my parents and little brother.

I got to tour the Vaganova School while visiting Russia, for dancers/ballet enthusiasts that was a pretty big deal.

many more that i can't think of at the moment, so come visit me and I'll share them with you!

教,学,和分享
