Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

In the past I've traveled to Argentina, Spain, France, Germany and Mexico. I haven't hosted or surfed yet, but I think it's a great idea. I'm going to be in the Dominican Republic during summer 2012 and I would like to give surfing a try.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Argentina in 2003: three weeks of snowboarding at different ski resorts and staying in youth hostels. I was traveling with a good friend who lives in Argentina with his family. One day we hiked outside of the resort boundary and rode down some of the best powder I've seen in my life. Two to three feet deep, untracked powder, and if felt more like floating or gliding than snowboarding. The avalanche danger was significant, and I would not have done it had I known then what I know now about avalanche conditions, but it was an incredible experience.

Teach, Learn, Share

I have played soccer for 20 years and coached for 6 seasons. I have worked as a Spanish/English medical interpreter for 3 years. I can give recommendations for Spanish-language films and podcasts. I'm very good at making pancakes.
