ABOUT ME

I was a student at a school in Des Moines, Iowa studying music, creative writing, and psychology for two years, and have recently taken a leave of absence to work, do some traveling, and generally get my head put on the right way before I delve back into my studies. I grew up in a suburb of Chicago, and have never lived anywhere other than there or Des Moines. I'm hoping couchsurfing lets me explore more places!

I don't do any drugs, don't smoke, and drink very infrequently. I bathe regularly, too!

PHILOSOPHY

Be who you are and say what you feel, because those who mind don't matter and those who matter don't mind.

I believe that there's some fate/karma/God/something out there, but have ceased attempting to figure it out. It is what it is! I also believe that people should be decent to each other, that negativity and anger really don't do anyone any good, and that we all are fighting our own battles and our own struggles. I try to see the common thread of humanity in everyone.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've met up with a couchsurfer in Colorado for a hike, but have yet to host/surf. I'm really eager to start though!

As I've said, I'm taking a gap year, and I'm hoping to travel to new places and meet new people while I'm off school.

I once built a retreat for college students from scratch, directed an art camp for at-risk youth, and got a story published in a literary journal!
