About Me

CURRENT MISSION

I want to see the world!

ABOUT ME

HI

I'm a fun-loving and adventurous student looking to travel the world. I study at the University of California, Santa Barbara. My major is art with an emphasis in digital media and I love editing. My ideal job would be to be an image editor for a magazine or working post production or anything with fashion/art. I am also currently a senior and am about to graduate. I also love photography and video. Take a look at my personal photoblog: okaygross.blogspot.com and my portfolio: http://brianjamesdang.wix.com/portfolio. Random fact about me.. I love trying new and exotic foods. Just to name a few that I've tried (not necessarily enjoyed): bull penis, fertilized baby duck egg, cow brain and jellyfish.

PHILOSOPHY

Try anything once. Be nice to others and they will be nice to you. Live life to the fullest. Be happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I live in a housing cooperative in Santa Barbara. It's called the Biko house named after anti-apartheid activist Stephen Biko. The house is themed on people of color. Our house constantly hosts travelers and bands that come to play in our garage. We are very open to hosting traveling individuals.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I studied abroad in Brighton, UK. I only have one couchsurfing experience and it was when I spent 4 days in Manchester. My friend and I stayed with this woman who was amazing to us. She showed us around, fed us, and drank booze/chain smoked with us. It was amazing. This positive experience has brought me back for more.

Interests

Art, film, music, photography, concerts, dancing at clubs, eating great food, meeting new and interesting people and watching horribly scripted reality television.

Music: I love SynthPop.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

One of my most fondest memories which I count as an amazing thing that I have done is travel to England. I had never traveled anywhere on my own and when I did this, it was truly freeing and eye-opening. I met the most amazing people and I learned that the kindness of others relies on how kind you are to others as well.

Teach, Learn, Share

I can teach you all about what it's like to live in a co-op. Also I can show you the best places to visit in Los Angeles.

Countries I’ve Visited

France, Mexico, Netherlands, South Korea, Spain, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In
