My name is Brian. I’m a 30 year old chilean filmmaker, photographer and multidisciplinary artist. Becoming a traveler was never on my mind, because I wanted to be a successful and prestigious director. Now though, I can see life had a different plan for me, and a lot more to teach and offer than tons of awards getting dusty and forgotten on the bookshelves.
I was always very focused on my career and as soon as I graduated I began to work as a tv commercial director and narrative filmmaker at the same time. After many years of hard work and dedication I started to see the real fruition of my work being honored, winning awards on festivals with short films and commercials. These accomplishments gave me the opportunity to move to Los Angeles, California, when I was 23. Those days opened the door to a completely new universe as filmmaker and photographer, showing me new ways to create, write and explore my craft. But what really caught my attention was that this was the moment that my fascination for traveling started. Living in a multicultural city made me realized how fascinated I am of the ethnical and cultural diversity we have in this world. As an artist I take inspiration from everything and meeting new people from different places has given me perspective of how diverse we are as human beings. I want to tell stories that connect with people around the world, and the more I know about different cultures, the wider my understanding is of how people think and feel.
After living in the US for many years, I started traveling the world and I realized that there’s so much beauty everywhere that I didn’t know existed before. This opened my curiosity again for exploring the globe and I became passionate about knowing different places and meeting new people.

I’m new on Couchsurfing, but I’m very motivated and excited for all the new experiences that this will bring, all the new places that I will visit, and all the moments that I can get to share with the people I’ll be meeting along the way. In my opinion, life is just a collection of experiences and as an artist I feel that I have the mission to collect them and put them together through my vision and with this, have the honor of sharing it to the world as an artistic expression.
