Overview
About Me
After growing up in a small town in Virginia and moving to a larger city, I realized how much cultural diversity I missed out on in my youth. Now, as a 26-year-old in Philadelphia, I am wonderfully exposed to many different cultures and types of people. I’d love to explore more of the world and immerse myself in cultures I haven’t experienced before.
I am passionate about theatre as I grew up acting and working behind the scenes on shows. I no longer act but I am still devoted to supporting and enjoying the arts. I enjoy volunteering in my community, I find it to be such a freeing experience and a way to give my gratitude towards the city that keeps me afloat. Some of my hobbies include painting, doodling, being outside and being active, seeing theatre shows or going to the orchestra, and yoga.
I do not drink so bars and/or nightclubs are not a place I would enjoy going.
I am a spiritual person with the philosophy that the greatest gift I can give myself (and those around me) is to be present in each and every moment.
I am an Immunology Researcher at the University of Pennsylvania. The lab I work in investigates how environmental factors contribute to chronic inflammatory diseases. I don’t get to talk about this often outside of work hours so if you’re interested in hearing me explain it, it’d be great practice for me and maybe fun learning for you!
I have lived in Philadelphia for two years now and have been able to see how much there is to do here. Showing others around Philly helps me to appreciate it so it would be my honor to show you around the historic landmarks or go to a museum or two together.
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I enjoy building new connections and relationships with people who come from different places, cultures, and experiences. As humans, we are built to be in community driven environments and I believe that even with traveling, it’s important to have community and shared experiences with locals. I’d like to not only meet people in their travels but give them a safe and comfortable place to call home for the time they are here.
