ABOUT ME

American teacher living in Saigon. My goal is to visit half the countries in the world. But I am not going to just count countries that I place my feet into and then immediately exit. I want to feel like I know the places that I've visited and gain some well rounded knowledge about each unique place. I love adventure. Is there a street you've never been on? Let’s go down it. A food that smells strange and weird, lets eat it. An unknown destination out there? Lets take a bus, a car, or hitchhike until we get there.

PHILOSOPHY

I really feel that you cannot know yourself until you have gotten out of the bubble that you are in. Everyone should experience other cultures in whatever way they can.

我为什么加入 Couchsurfing

I am couchsurfing because I am not a tourist. I want to actually experience what it is like to live in a certain environment. Having this authentic experience is hard without meeting someone, thus couchsurfing is the best option to live with a local and have an amazing experience.

Recently I ate pigs blood, duck blood, chicken hearts, and stinky tofu in one sitting. And it was pretty good.

I moved to an Arab country when everyone told me I shouldn't.

I am actually fluent in American Sign Language and I am willing teach. I also surprisingly know a lot of origami.

I have some pretty unique traveling experience because I've been to a lot of countries in the GCC and I'd love to share.
