About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Hi there! A little about me: Have recently been living and working overseas with my husband who works for Cirque du Soleil. Prior to this I was working at a surf store and I have my own stationery business. In the past I worked as Stage Crew on Princess Cruises for over a year where I got to see Europe, Central America and the Caribbean. During this time I also backpacked/road-tripped Greece and Turkey and did a roadtrip around the UK, Ireland and Iceland with my mum. I met the love of my life while travelling/working on ships who I married in Serbia! My first backpacking trip was around Asia, I visited 10 countries in about 3 months. I've also been to all the states in Australia. Hubby and I did a roadtrip through a bit of Eastern Europe 2 years ago but there's still soo much more of Europe I'd love to see! Africa and South America are on the list too! Keen to make new friends around the world! I want to become a little wiser, a little more cultured and knowledgable of the world. Love exploring new places whether it's an hour down the road or in the middle of nowhere in a foreign country.

ABOUT ME

Grew up in Melbourne but moved to the Gold Coast when I was 20 and stayed for 10 years! Didn't think I'd be there for that long but just recently moved back to Melbourne to be closer to family again. I'm a bit of a movie buff and studied filmmaking. Have done a bit of backpacking around the world but always keen to see more countries and meet new people. I love watching fantasy, history, independent films, documentaries, anime, dramas, biographical films, arthouse movies and foreign films. I can come across as a bit serious but once you get to know me I'm a bit of a dork with a quirky sense of humour! I absolutely love to have a dance at clubs too!

PHILOSOPHY

To simply be happy.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

I couchsurfed a little in Asia, Greece and USA, would like to host in the future to return the good karma I got.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

Everyone I've stayed with so far has been so nice and helpful and we've all gone out for dinner and/or a drink too ;) Made some lifelong friends!

Interests

I like movies, music, reading, musicals, going to the beach with my dog Stewie, going to watch live entertainment such as concerts or musicals, coffee or dinners with friends, hiking, mini golf, riding my bike, bowling, tennis, dancing, going to the drive-in, etc.

I want to learn how to skate and ski better. And maybe even surf one day!

Music, Movies, and Books

Will watch any movies except for horror. Love all music except for country and screamo metal. My favourite band is Coldplay but I love to dance and rap to r'n'b and hip hop lol. Not very good at finishing books to be honest.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

My friends and I took a road trip, we drove 7 hours to Wee Waa which is a little town in the middle of nowhere in NSW. Here was the 2013 Daft Punk Album Release Party for 'Random Access Memories'. This was also the first time I had been camping. Imagine a really well organised rave party in the country with rides, fireworks, lots of free alcohol, light beams, a huge disco ball, and a massive LED dance floor in the shape of a vinyl. Then thousands of people dancing to the new Daft Punk album while hitting beach balls up in the air. It was simply amazing and a night I will never forget.

Teach, Learn, Share

To understand us Aussies and our weird slang a bit better? I want to learn about history, customs, culture and food in other countries because Australia's history isn't very old. And I can share my stories and loving nature with you all :)
