About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Studying abroad in France, enjoying people and places.

ABOUT ME

I grew up overseas in Africa since my parents work for an NGO, but am an American citizen. Currently I'm a senior at Wheaton College in Illinois studying English Writing with a particular interest in poetry and theater.

PHILOSOPHY

I try to understand people and where they are from before making any evaluations. I love talking and shaping my own worldview through relationships with other friends. God exists and loves humans, but life is hard and our time here on earth is spent wrestling with our relationship to God and other people.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

At the moment I'm in college housing, so I can't host people, however I have in the past when I was studying abroad in Montpellier, France.

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I surfed with a wonderful woman in Italy who was incredibly hospitable and have hosted.

Interests

I love reading and cooking most, with photography, art, and writing coming up for a close finish. I spend a lot of time reading and playing various sports for fun. As a soon-to-graduate senior, I'm looking for a job.

Music, Movies, and Books

As an English Major I've been enjoying Wendell Berry, Lorrie Moore, Andre Dubus, Mary Karr, George Orwell, Mark Twain, and Albert Camus recently.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

I have traveled internationally from when I was 17 and once took a 25 hour public transport bus up to Burkina Faso to get picked up for a softball tournament. When I say bus what I mean is a 9-seater minivan with all the seats replaced with benches and 20 people crammed in. A little old African lady fell asleep in my lap.

Countries I’ve Visited

Burkina Faso, France, Germany, Ghana, Italy, Niger, South Africa, United Kingdom, United States

Countries I’ve Lived In

Australia, Benin, France, Togo, United States
