About Me
Well, where do I begin?
I graduated this past year from James Madison University and have recently been trying to support my dream of living in Japan.
I'm a rather open-minded person, including my genuine interest in others and their pursuit of becoming the best version of themselves. I am the type of person who will go out of his way to help out a friend in need.
That said, I'm also sort of eclectic in that I don't always do things the normal way. I think that makes life fun and enjoyable; can you blame me?
Why I’m on Couchsurfing
I'm here to meet up with new people and have fun, interesting experiences with others. I always enjoy branching out and trying new things, so this seems like a fantastic opportunity to do that.
Interests
Food and drinks. I'm all for enjoying some cold brews and nice food with friends, and it doesn't take much for me to consider you a friend.
Music. My music collection consists of more than 12000 songs from basically every genre—over 14500 if you include my orchestral collection. I'm actually a percussionist, have been playing for over 12 years.
Travel. My current stay in Japan is a testament to this. I like to experience new things, and new places are grand in this regard.

Music, Movies, and Books
Favorite music would have to be progressive rock or metal and electronic. However, my tastes are ridiculously broad and I listen to everything from video game music to jam band, pop, chiptune, orchestral, hip-hop, jazz, trance, etc.
I enjoy highly rated movies and TV shows from time to time, but I don't put too much time into that. I occasionally do watch anime as well.
I haven't made much opportunity to read recently, but I know I like Chuck Palahniuk, Matthew Kelly, Orson Scott Card, and such.
One Amazing Thing I’ve Done
I marched in a world class drum and bugle corps by the name of Madison Scouts in 2011. We toured around the US for a few months and performed in front of audiences ranging in the tens of thousands, including places such as the Colts' stadium in Indianapolis.
I've also been in the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in New York, two separate times, as well as the New Years Day Parade in London.
Teach, Learn, Share
I love to learn. I'm usually engrossed by psychological concepts, but lately Japanese has been a full-time job for me.
What I Can Share with Hosts
I can share my bright company, being up for pretty much anything you would like to try if I'm available.
I can also share my experiences. There's also a good chance I have a number of things you'd like to learn more about, and I'm more than willing to tell you all about them. I'd also like to learn about your own experiences if you'd have me stay with you.
