About Me

CURRENT MISSION

Re-engage with the Couchsurfing community in my home town and make lasting friendships with like-minded and adventurous people.

ABOUT ME

In 2013 I solo-traveled over a year and 30k miles and fell in love with the Couchsurfing community. In 2016 I took off again and couch surfed across South East Asia and Western Europe (where I met my now-husband!). I still travel a lot, but am more often visiting friends than Couchsurfing these days.

LOOKING FOR...

For the first time in my life I have some stability and have committed to staying in one place. I am looking to meet new people, spend time with adventurous and like-minded friends, and contribute to / build my community.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

HOW I PARTICIPATE IN COUCHSURFING

Making friends all over the world has been educational and fulfilling. While I used to Surf a lot, I am more looking for events and ways to support this global community of open-minded travelers who enjoy sharing culture, food, and opinions.

MY COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE HAS BEEN...

Life changing, inspiring, humbling, engaging, eye-opening, and fulfilling.

Interests

I truly enjoy cooking and share meals, to road explore (both urban and off-road), go to concerts and museums, dance (or at least attempt to), beach-sit, ride bikes, listen to audio books, and listen to people's stories from all walks of life.

Music, Movies, and Books

I am not a big television person but I am slowly making my way through Steven Universe and liking it. I enjoy mostly documentaries that I can learn something from and (to my husbands' dismay) am not much into Sci-Fi. I also don't listen to much music (but am always down for a live show) and currently I am reading "The Body Keeps The Score" by Bessel van der Kolk.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

Slept on the deck of a speed boat at the end of Key West and woke up to a light rain, shining ocean, and brilliant sunrise.

Plucked an apple from a tree growing out of the Niagara River and got soaked hanging out under the falls to eat it.

Did the bourbon trail in Kentucky, was gifted a bottle of whiskey at the Makers Mark distillery with my name on the label, and got to personally dip it in the iconic red wax and press the seal.

Swam in the Gulf of Mexico during a bio-luminescent tide and watched 4 lightning storms along the horizon.

Camped in a carved out stone cave, under ground, in Alice Springs, Australia.

Went to a 5 day Indian wedding in the center of India and met the state's Cultural Minister.

Flipped a car.
