I am intersted in other cultures, in nature and in getting to know people from all over the world. Five years ago my husband and me went on Sabbatical and travelled for six months through Asia and Australia (backpacking). In September we leave our jobs for one more year and again we go backpacking. First country is Iran, then Oman and in Nepal we are going to support the organisation MAITI (girls who got sold into prostitution in India are taken back and get support and education by this organisation.
I studied English and geography and when my three sons left home, I started my sociology studies. Presently I teach at a grammar school and do scientific research at a university.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

I/ we (my husband and me) do love travelling and thus we like getting into close contact with people and get to know how people live, what they think.... - thus I have signed in for couch surfing. I do hope that we get invited although we are a different age group - but age doesn't matter if one tries to learn from each other and gets open-minded by meeting other people. As a sociologist I am so keen on getting to know about other societies.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

trekking to Annapurna although I was seriously ill - but I managed to reach my aim and thus I know that I can surpass limits physically and mentally - that experinece has made me stronger.
