I set a goal when I was 17 to visit 3 new countries per year and eventually visit all of them...I'm currently at 67. I'm now on my last solo mission for quite some time, though-I'm 18 weeks pregnant and embarking on a babymoon, visiting a few places that have been high on my list for quite some time! I'd love to meet up with locals or just get tips on what I should do! I'll be visiting Stockholm, Copenhagen and Prague! =)

Life is too short to be unhappy...if you don't like your situation, change it! Opportunity does not come knocking--you are the one who has to knock!! Be respectful and honest. Regardless of whether or not karma exists, treat people the way you would want to be treated.

Why I’m on Couchsurfing

My travels would not have been so memorable and heartwarming had I never discovered CS. I realized this the first time I traveled without using it. I had become a bit put off by CS because it seemed to be changing and I felt like people were using it for the wrong reasons, but then I started thinking about my favorite travel memories, and almost all of them were related to CS. So I got back on!

I have used couchsurfing in Cyprus, Greece, Turkey, Bulgaria, Macedonia, Mexico and the states. I've also attended CS meetings in Tunisia, Barcelona and Paris (absolutely amazing CS group there!)

COUCHSURFING EXPERIENCE

I've had nearly all good experiences couchsurfing. I think it is a wonderful way for people to learn about the country they are visiting and share thoughts and experiences with sometimes like minded and sometimes very different but open minded individuals!

Interests

I love listening to great stories and almost any outdoors activity. I love reading and theatre but am not a huge fan of television...I practice Brazilian jiu jitsu and freedive/spearfish.

The God of Small Things by Arundhati Roy. Travels with Charley by John Steinbeck...Inés of My Soul by Isabel Allende...Tim O'Brien The Things They Carried...and many more! I love all music pretty much...I'm not so into movies, but one piece of literature turned musical turned movie that I have obsessed with since childhood is Les Miserables.

One Amazing Thing I’ve Done

2009- The only thing that's ever taken my breath away is the sky in Wadi Rum in Jordan. The sky looks like diamonds spilled on a velvet cloth.

Completely random chance to drive a jet ski around Sao Miguel island in the Azores...got to go into some spectacular caves, a secluded red pebble beach and well to drive around in this like-I’d-never-seen-before blue water! And on the way back, there was even a rainbow...memory for a lifetime!

Teach, Learn, Share

I'd be happy to teach anything I can offer...languages or travel tips for any of the places I've been! Learning, I like learning anything...but no matter how many times I've tried to learn how to dance, that one just seems completely beyond me. I'll still try if that's your thing though!
